Day 1 – RESPECT

By July 10, 2014 Uncategorized

Once again, we chose the word RESPECT for our first day.  We will use new words for next seven days, but this one is so important and hard to change! So, like last week, we welcomed the girls to Blackcomb and Whistler for another session of the Ski Racing Sisterhood! Respect is important for the first day back to help set the tone for camp: our priority here is to SKI. Secondly, we want to have tons of fun while working hard. In order to have tons of fun, we need to have the respect from the girls when it comes to listening, rules, schedules, etc – and we need to respect them as well! We also want them to open up to each other and not just stick to who they know! This camp we have 7 girls from Quebec – a record! It’s a good opportunity for the girls to practice languages that they don’t usually speak in and to be outgoing!! Including us (the coaches).  Today we got back on snow, saw lots of smiles, and really got settled in to Whistler.  The girls checked out Lost Lake for dryland and Leslie is currently grilling up a storm!
