As some of you may know, our co-founder, Anna Goodman is not quite done with competitive ski racing. After leaving the Canadian National Ski Team in April of 2012 to pursue academics at Westminster College in Utah, Anna decided to keep up her competitive skiing in a much more relaxed environment. Juggling both skiing and school through the winter of 2012/2013, Anna logged an incredible FOURTEEN wins (including a GOLD at the US Championships), the overall Nor-Am Title (with the HIGHEST point count in history), opened TWO world cup spots for Canada AND won the second run of the Ofterschwang World Cup, finishing 15th in the race.
This is an incredible year for anyone, let alone a “retired” athlete attending College! This made Anna re-think her decision about leaving the World Cup circuit, and we are super proud to announce that she will be returning to the World Cup this year in a big push to compete at the OLYMPIC Winter Games in Sochi, Russia!!!!!!
Anna is spending her summer giving back to young alpine skiers by coaching three different camps including Ski Racing Sisterhood which she is very proud to have founded, all the while training hard to give herself the best chance of competing in SOCHI! This is where Anna needs our help! She is looking to pursue her dreams independently of the Canadian Ski Team and with a small (or large!) donation, we can make this possible!
Anna has a website set up to track her progress to Sochi and it is also where you can donate to help Anna achieve her dreams:
Let’s all do our part to help inspire someone who has inspired so many through Ski Racing Sisterhood and GET ANNA TO SOCHI!!! (not to mention that there is some SWEET SWAG for donating!!!!)
Thanks in advance for any help that can be given, moral support is also welcome by leaving a message here, on Anna’s website or even on our facebook page!
